Hello
My name is Danielle - and I bake cakes! I love making all kinds of cakes, but particularly ones that are covered in flowers, unicorns and lots and lots of glitter! At Blonde Bakery, we don't just do birthdays - we make cakes and favours for every occasion imaginable... weddings, baby showers, gender reveals, christenings... anything at all really - we like a challenge! It is important to me that I work closely with customers to ensure that every detail is discussed - customer satisfaction is always my upmost priority.
My Story
I have been baking since about 2008, when I used to bake cakes for friends and family from my own little kitchen. This messy hobby quickly turned into more than just a hobby, and I started baking for farmers markets and taking orders in Holmfirth where we lived at the time. I decided that my true dream was to open a cupcake shop and tea room (tea being my other passion!), and my husband and I, made the move to York where we had found the perfect little shop, right behind the spectacular East window of York Minster. The business was fantastic, and grew into something really special. Our first daughter came along in 2015 and then in 2017, an exciting opportunity to move to Hong Kong arose, and we decided to move there for an exciting adventure. My little business was sold to 2 amazing ladies who are absolutely smashing it, which makes me so happy! Once we got to Hong Kong, I had decided I was going to have a little break from baking, however quickly missed it, and this is where Blonde Bakery began. After an amazing 3 years in Asia, we moved back to our York home mid 2020 and Blonde Bakery restarted right back where we began - in the beautiful City of York...
